Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Officers say they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for information.
An important political figure stated the vandalism left him stunned and needed to be resolved promptly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
